Hello everyone, welcome to another chapter in Compass of the North; In a few weeks, we will travel to Asia (Australia-Thailand) to discover the secrets of the Northern City in Thailand, Chiang Mai, the largest and most culturally significant city in northern Thailand, and is the capital of Chiang Mai Province. It is located some 700 km (435 mi) north of Bangkok, among some of the highest mountains in the country
We will stay in Chiang Mai for one week, staying in the middle of the rice plantations and famous "Holywood" jungles, Close to Laos, Burma and Vietnam and then we will fly (Air Asia) to the south of Thailand, Phuket Island.
The island was on one of the major trading routes between India and China, and was frequently mentioned in foreign ship logs of Portuguese, French, Dutch and English traders. Phuket, which is approximately the size of Singapore, is Thailand’s largest island.
