between heaven and earth

30 minits ago, I was in the Mount Isa aborigen Art exposition (Museum to Mount Isa, Queensland)...

Art is one of the key rituals of Aboriginal culture and was and still is, used to mark territory, record history, and tell stories about the dreamtime. But its importance to traditional Indigenous life is difficult for non-Indigenous people to understand...every drow is part of a dream of some artist, they can dream with the land where they are living, is like one picture taked from one helicopter or airplane...is just amazing. When you are looking one of this paints you are looking the spirit of this land.
Art was and remains an important component of the system of restricted knowledge, and at a more metaphysical level is the major means of recreating ancestral events, ensuring continuity with the ancestral past, and communicating with the spirit world...just enjoy with some glass of red wine and aborigen didgeridoos music...

Many of the symbols used by Aboriginal artists are a variation of lines or dots. Similar symbols can have multiple meanings according to the art region and the elaborate combination of these can tell complex Dreamtime stories

The Dreamtime (or Dreaming) is a term used to describe the period before living memory when Spirits emerged from beneath the earth and from the sky to create the land forms and all living things

For manufacturing and manufacture of paints the aborigines still using different colors of rocks, roots and blood Kangaroo as varnish to be maintained over time .... much of this art can be found intact in caverns and rocks in the middle of Australian desert

"To understand our law, our culture and our relationship to the physical and spiritual world, you must begin with land. Everything about aboriginal society is inextricably woven with, and connected to, land. Culture is the land, the land and spirituality of aboriginal people, our cultural beliefs or reason for existence is the land. You take that away and you take away our reason for existence. We have grown that land up. We are dancing, singing, and painting for the land. We are celebrating the land. Removed from our lands, we are literally removed from ourselves".
(Mick Dodson, former Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Justice Commissioner)
