A cobra is a venomous snake belonging to the family elapidae. The name is short for cobra de capelo, which is Portuguese for "snake with hood", or "hood-snake". When disturbed, most of these snakes can rear up and spread their neck (or hood) in a characteristic threat display.
The Rinkhals also called the Ringhals or Ring-necked Spitting Cobra (Hemachatus haemachatus) is a venomous elapid species found in parts of southern Africa. It is one of a group of cobras that has developed the ability to spit venom as a defense mechanism.
The king cobra (Ophiophagus hannah) is the world's longest venomous snake, with a length up to 5.6 m (18.5 ft). This species is widespread throughout Southeast Asia and parts of India, and is found mostly in forested areas. The king cobra is fierce, agile, and can deliver a large quantity of highly potent venom in a single bite. It is one of the most dangerous and feared Asiatic snakes

Mae Sa Snake Farm in Chiang Mai organizes a show everyday for general viewing in its premise. The show times are at 11:30 am, 14:15pm and 15:30pm. The show lasts for half-an-hour. You have to pay an entry fee for the show. The highlights of the show are demonstrations of how snake venom is extracted from the various dangerous snake species. Amazing chapter... but I am afraid of snakes...guaaaa!!! in the water... Crazy Drile...do you remember in La Laguna when i was followed by a snake? Casi me muero... que horror.

Snakes are amazing Mr. Suruyo!
Specially in Chiang Mai...the paradise for Cobras!...
We stay at Four Seasons located in the middle of the Mountains and rice fields; and every single night, the staff need to check if any cobra or another kind of snake is triying to have free acommodation in the guests rooms... another planet man, Planet Thailand!

Very interesting chapter .

for Thai culture, cobras are a holy animal. If you have no intention to hurt them, they will not hurt you. We also believe that cobra is a protector of the god of the land as well.
