faces in the trees...

Welcome everyone once again to keep discovering the secrets of the ancients civilizations in Asia...I followed another rute to Ayutthaya to visit some very old temples in the Khmer style - a testament to the centuries of conflict between Thailand and what is now Cambodia - and see the famous Buddha face peering out from between the tree roots

In its heyday, Thai culture and commerce flourished, and lots of foreign merchants resided in the capital, including Dutch, Portuguese, French, English, Japanese etc. Foreign visitors were most impressed by its splendour

The Burmese invaded Ayutthaya and the capital fell in 1767. Most of the city's temples and religious sculptures were destroyed. However, proud monuments to its glory are still standing, some restored

Amazing....the famous face carved in the tree in Ayutthaya... it seems the tree grew around the face of the buddha creating this unique and misterious figure

How did the tree know to get around the head and not over the face?

Dear Seba and Amy:

Good Luck!!!

CADA VEZ ME QUEDAN MENOS PALABRAS, TENGO LA PIEL DE POLLO, LA DURA SEBAS, TE MORI, ME PASA ALGO MUY LOCO CON ESTAS IMÁGENES, ES MY FURTE EL SENTIMIENTO.... NUNCA PENSE QUE PUDIERAS A TRAVEZ DE TUS IMÁGENES TRANSMITIR LO QUE ESTOY SINTIENDO AHORA.
DEFINITIVAMENTE HAY LUGARES Y COSAS QUE HACEN PENSAR QUE HAY ALGO MÁS ALLÁ DE LO QUE CONOCEMOS.

UN BESO ENORME A LOS DOS, LOS QUIERO MUCHO.
